I can't get the MLB package this year because DirecTV stole it from cable. Came up with my own solution....
Installed a video capture card on my dad's pc Hauppauge Win-TV PVR 150 in New York( thanks dad). Then I installed sagetv and an ftp server as well. In Maryland I have my modded xbox (original) with XBMC installed and added my dads server as source for video. Now I can watch the Mets live with no blackouts, and always the NY anouncers. I also tape Mets Weekly and see the postgame reports. This is how the MLB package should work. I had the MLB package last year on cable and the feed from my dad's tv looks 10x better! They had the worst quality SD video. My next move is to install an OTA HD antena so I can get the stream in HD. Just have to wait till SNY goes High Def. Let's Go Met's Oh, I also watch the Kincks and Gaints this way.
Some geek notes:
You can change the standard recording quality in sagetv. I added some fps to the lowest vcd standard. My dad's upstream is 200kbps so anything over 200k wont play for me.
Got the latest csv release from T3ch of xbmc. I managed to get the file to play as the game was being recorded. So I log into sagetv and set the game to record (or just schedule it with the program guide) then login to the ftp with XBMC and play the file as it's building it.

You can pause or even stop watching the game. With newer verisons of XBMC it will restart the stream from where it stopped.
Amazingly I can also start a stream then fast foward all the way to the end and it plays it. How XBMC does this over and ftp stream is beyong me, but it works!
Could have used a PVR system like MythTV, MCE, or really anything. But already had the modded xbox. I really like SageTV bec it let's you customize almost everything.
